Job Title: Transportation Planner

Client: Food Manufacturing Company

Duration: 06 Months (Possibility of Extension)

Location: Wichita, KS 67202

Shift: Monday–Friday (7:30 AM – 4:30 PM or 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM)

Description:

• Coordinate transportation, shipments, and deliveries between plants, warehouses, and customers.
• Track and trace daily truck shipments to ensure on-time pickup and delivery.
• Schedule carriers and manage transportation orders using SAP.
• Monitor transportation costs, service performance, and key logistics metrics.
• Communicate shipment updates, delays, and transportation issues with customers, carriers, and internal teams.
• Coordinate pickups with plants, warehouses, and shipping locations.
• Build loads, manage unrouted orders, and resolve shipment changes or delivery issues.
• Support carrier sourcing strategies and manage carrier assignments based on rankings.
• Collaborate with Sales, Customer Service, and Supply Chain teams to meet customer requirements.
• Review, log, and approve carrier invoices while ensuring accurate transportation records.
• Escalate complex transportation issues and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Education:

• Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Transportation, Business, Supply Chain, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Experience:

• 2+ years of transportation, logistics, or supply chain experience with a related degree, or
• 4+ years of relevant transportation or logistics experience.
