Police Captain Promotional Recruitment
The Menifee Police Department is pleased to formally announce its Police Captain promotional recruitment. Qualified candidates will be required to undergo a multi-faceted process prior to filling this integral position within our organization.

Education and Experience
Any combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be:
- A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in criminal justice, police science, business administration, public administration, or a related field and seven (7) years (full-time equivalent) of increasingly responsible law enforcement experience, including one year of management experience as a Police Lieutenant.
Licenses and Certifications
- Possession of a valid California P.O.S.T. Supervisory Certificate.
- Possession of a California P.O.S.T. Management Certificate is desirable.
- Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid California Driver's License by time of appointment.
Selection Procedure
Applicants possessing the required qualifications will be invited to participate in the examination process. All qualified applicants will be assessed on job-relevant qualifications, including possession of the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary for the Police Captain position; ability to perform essential job functions; and related education, training, and experience.

- 360 Evaluation
- Wednesday, September 23– Wednesday, September 30
- Organizational Network Assessment
- Wednesday, September 23– Wednesday, September 30
- The Organizational Network Assessment will run concurrently with the 360 Evaluation during this time.
- Appraisal Interviews
- Tuesday, October 13
Evaluation Weighting: Please note that the final eligibility list will be determined using the combined scores from the following components:
- Appraisal Interview: 70%
- Organizational Network Assessment: 30%
