Major Hospital in Shelbyville, Indiana, is recruiting a full-time board eligible/board certified Anesthesiologist. This is a hospital-employed, salaried position, consisting of 15 shifts and 5 calls per month (including some weekends and holidays). Major Hospital currently employs 7 board certified MD/DO anesthesiologists and is dedicated to 100% physician anesthesia. A physician filling this opening would be considered a full partner on day one. All shifts, calls, holidays, cases and vacation requests are shared equitably pursuant to employment agreements. The group prides themselves on excellent patient care and a team approach with good working relationships with our surgeons, administration and other OR staff. Caseload includes primarily outpatient procedures including general surgery, orthopedics, podiatry, plastic surgery, GYN, ENT and obstetrics. Major Hospital does not do cardiac, vascular or neurosurgery. Total cases per year are approximately 4,600 with approximately 350 OB deliveries. Qualifications required include an unrestricted medical license required in the state of Indiana Board Certified or Board Eligible. If board eligible, will need to complete certification within 2 years. Candidate will need to be proficient at regional blocks, Obstetrical epidural anesthesia, and straight forward pediatric anesthesia. Shelbyville is an easy 25-minute commute from Indianapolis, and most of the anesthesia staff live in Indianapolis and the surrounding areas. Major Health Partners is the leading healthcare provider for patients in Shelby County and many surrounding areas. In January 2017, we opened a new, state-of-the-art medical facility called the MHP Medical Center. This new facility combines most of our patients’ medical needs under one roof. With the most advanced technology and a staff that cares for patients as if they were family, we offer a very unique healthcare work. Major Hospital was one of only three Indiana hospitals to be named a Top 100 Great Community Hospital. We offer a competitive salary and full-time benefits including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), FSA, malpractice, CME stipend, life and disability.
