Team Lead, Pathology-Ambulatory

Overview The Team Leader, Pathology Ambulatory Laboratory Service Centers is responsible for the processing and workflows for all laboratory specimens and orders from all sources, and/or collecting specimens on populations of all ages. Responsibilities include verification of patient/specimen identification, ensuring the appropriateness of specimen and accompanying orders, daily organization of the phlebotomy section, scheduling staff for daily assignments, and monitoring specimen collection and processing. The role requires providing staff training and education, maintaining training records in compliance with laboratory standards and accrediting agencies, representing the laboratory to WakeMed customers, assisting with annual and introductory performance appraisals, supporting Quality Assurance and Continuous Quality Improvement activities, and writing or updating procedures. The position works independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision and periodic review by supervisory staff. Qualifications Licensure : Phlebotomy Preferred. Education : High School Diploma or Equivalent Required. Experience : 2 Years Clinical – Clinical Laboratory – Specimen Processing Required – In Healthcare – Multi-Hospital System Preferred.
