About The Role This pivotal role is for someone who is not just observing where product design has been, but actively exploring where it is headed. You will be at the forefront of integrating emerging AI tools into the design process, understanding their strengths and limitations, and using them to create leverage without compromising judgment, craft, accessibility, ethics, or deep user understanding. You will be a key partner to Product, Engineering, Research, Marketing, Operations, Sales, and business leaders, shaping workflows that help providers grow, manage their partnerships more effectively, and support families navigating significant care decisions with confidence. Your contributions will directly enhance the user experience, drive business outcomes, and elevate the overall quality of the product. You are deeply curious about tools like Figma Make, Figma Agents, Claude, ChatGPT, Codex, and Cursor, and have likely experimented with them in their early stages. You understand their power to accelerate exploration, synthesis, prototyping, and production, while also recognizing the limitations, quality risks, trust concerns, and new responsibilities they introduce for designers. You bring robust interaction design, information architecture, systems thinking, and product judgment to complex domains, enabling you to work across provider-facing workflows, partner tools, marketing touchpoints, and internal systems, all while maintaining a holistic view of the broader marketplace journey. What You Will Do Lead Design for Provider Experience: Own end-to-end product design for provider workstreams, from initial discovery and journey mapping through prototypes and production-ready designs. This includes provider-facing products, partner workflows, lead quality, conversion acceleration, account growth, and operational capabilities that empower providers to serve families more effectively. Translate Complexity into Intuitive Workflows: Transform intricate marketplace, partner, and operational challenges into clear, intuitive workflows for both internal and external users. Strategic Partnership: Collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, Research, Marketing, Operations, Sales, and business leaders to define problem framing, establish success criteria, navigate tradeoffs, and determine release scope. Design for Trust and Clarity: Create workflows that instill trust, provide clarity, ensure speed, and offer high usability in environments where accurate information and confident next steps are paramount for users. Shape Product Direction with Evidence: Guide design decisions using insights from research, analytics, provider conversations, partner feedback, frontline team input, product data, and broader business context. Identify High-Leverage Opportunities: Pinpoint areas where improved provider workflows can significantly enhance customer outcomes and business performance. Communicate Design Rationale: Clearly articulate design rationale to product teams, engineering partners, marketing partners, operational stakeholders, and senior leaders, explaining not just what should ship, but why it matters. Raise the Design Quality Bar: Apply and extend shared design patterns to ensure product surfaces are coherent across domains. Distinguish between provider-specific design needs and reusable system patterns, contributing to shared foundations including interaction patterns, information architecture, accessibility, UX writing, and craft standards. Mentor and Elevate: Mentor and raise the bar for other designers through constructive critique, promoting pattern quality, and strong product storytelling, without requiring direct people-management responsibility. Increase Design Leverage with AI: Embrace a builder’s mindset, using lightweight prototypes, AI-assisted workflows, and scrappy experiments to make ideas tangible earlier. Experiment with AI tools to explore product directions, prototype workflows, synthesize inputs, pressure-test assumptions, and improve the speed and quality of design work. Share AI Learnings: Help the team understand where AI meaningfully improves the experience, and where human judgment, trust, and clarity remain paramount. Share your learnings with design peers and stakeholders to foster collective growth. Qualifications 7+ years of product design experience on complex web, SaaS, marketplace, CRM, internal-tool, partner-portal, or operations-facing products. A strong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end ownership from ambiguous problem framing through shipped product, including work that influenced product strategy or raised the quality bar across multiple workstreams. Excellent interaction design, systems thinking, information architecture, and product judgment. Demonstrated curiosity and hands-on experimentation with AI tools in the design or product development process. Ability to explain not just what you designed, but how you used evidence, tools, prototypes, constraints, and judgment to make better decisions. Experience working in fast-moving, ambiguous environments where ownership, pragmatism, and cross-functional trust are highly valued. Strong Figma skills and the ability to communicate design intent through flows, prototypes, specifications, and crisp design storytelling. Comfort partnering deeply with Product Managers, Engineers, Researchers, Marketing, operational stakeholders, Sales, and senior leaders to align teams around clear design direction.
