Sr. MarTech Manager, Communications

Web, communications and lifecycle platforms, ad tech, content and asset systems, experimentation, and AI marketing tooling now sit under one team — with a mandate to turn a stack of point solutions into a single growth engine.

Chime is hiring a Senior MarTech Manager, Communications to evolve the technology that powers member communications across email, push, in-app, SMS and emerging channels. Reporting to the Director of Marketing Technology, you’ll serve as the MarTech lead for communications. You will bring deep expertise in Braze and the broader communications technology ecosystem, while also helping shape the broader cross-channel MarTech platform strategy. You’ll partner with Marketing, Product, Engineering, and Data teams to translate marketing and business needs into scalable solutions, optimize our technology stack, and unlock new capabilities.

This is a senior individual contributor role combining technical depth, systems thinking, and cross-functional influence. You’ll work across platforms, integrations, data, vendors, and teams to solve complex problems and shape our comms tech evolves.

The base salary offered for this role and level of experience will begin at $153,000 and up to $200,000. Full-time employees are also eligible for a bonus, competitive equity package, and benefits. The actual base salary offered may be higher, depending on your location, skills, qualifications, and experience.

In this role, you can expect to

• Serve as MarTech lead for Braze and the broader communications vendor ecosystem, managing integrations, audience syncing, and data flows and troubleshooting issues to ensure our messaging tech operates reliability and at scale.
• Partner closely with Marketing, Product, Engineering, and Data teams to translate business needs into technical requirements, identify capability gaps, and deliver scalable technology and automation solutions.
• Manage vendor relationships, performance, and roadmap alignment. Lead vendor evaluations and RFPs, pilot new capabilities, identify consolidation opportunities, and drive build-vs-buy recommendations.
• Identify and advance opportunities to apply AI across the communications operational workflow and marketing technology stack, from evaluating third-party capabilities to building and automating workflows.
• Drive greater value from our communications technology across orchestration, personalization, experimentation, audience activation, and content.
• Establish MarTech governance and best practices, including measures of platform health, integration reliability, data quality, adoption, and vendor performance.

To thrive in this role, you have

• 8+ years of experience in marketing technology, CRM/lifecycle technology, product management, marketing automation or engineering, or a related technical field
• Deep hands-on expertise with Braze, including integrations, orchestration, personalization, data structures, and platform configuration.
• Strong understanding of communications technology architecture and technical fluency with APIs, schemas, events and triggers, integrations, identity and audience syncing, and data flows.
• Experience translating marketing needs into technical requirements, and partnering with and influencing Product, Engineering, Data, and/or vendors to deliver scalable capabilities.
• Experience managing strategic technology vendors and leading RFPs, pilots, and build-vs-buy assessments.
• Strong systems thinking and troubleshooting skills, with experience diagnosing communication failures across events, data, integrations, and platforms and driving issues to resolution.
• Strong cross-functional communication and influence, with the ability to bridge marketing and technical audiences.
• Experience evaluating AI-enabled capabilities and turning promising use cases into measurable pilots, workflows, or automations.
