ICU Registered Nurse (RN)The ICU Travel Registered Nurse provides direct, high-acuity nursing care to critically ill adult patients. This position requires strong clinical judgment, rapid decision-making, effective communication, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. The nurse will collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary care team to stabilize patients, implement treatment plans, and promote safe, quality outcomes.Essential ResponsibilitiesAssess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized care for critically ill patients.Monitor and interpret vital signs, cardiac rhythms, laboratory results, and other diagnostic data.Manage ventilated patients, invasive lines, vasoactive medications, and critical care therapies.Administer medications, blood products, IV fluids, and treatments according to physician orders and facility policy.Recognize changes in patient condition and initiate appropriate interventions promptly.Respond to rapid-response and emergency situations as assigned.Accurately document assessments, interventions, patient responses, and care plans.Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatments, medications, and discharge needs.Communicate effectively during handoff reports and interdisciplinary rounds.Follow infection prevention, medication safety, patient identification, and regulatory standards.Float to comparable units when needed, based on competency and facility policy.Participate in weekend and holiday rotations as required by the assignment.Minimum QualificationsGraduate of an accredited nursing program.Current, unrestricted RN license in the state of practice or active multistate compact privilege.Minimum of two years of recent ICU or critical care nursing experience.Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.Demonstrated experience caring for ventilated patients and managing critical care medications.Ability to pass required background checks, drug screening, health screening, and competency assessments.Experience with electronic medical records and computerized documentation.Skills and CompetenciesStrong critical-thinking and clinical assessment skills.Ability to prioritize and manage multiple high-acuity patients.Effective communication, teamwork, and conflict-resolution skills.Ability to adapt quickly to facility processes and changing patient needs.Commitment to patient safety, confidentiality, and compassionate care.The employee must be able to stand and walk for extended periods, assist with lifting and repositioning patients, respond quickly during emergencies, and perform the physical duties required in a critical care environment, with or without reasonable accommodation.General CommentsNumber of Positions: 1Position Creation Reason: Replacement of Permanent StaffClient Details City Forrest City State AR
