General Operator

Pay Rate: $19.50/hr (1st Shift); $23.50/hr (2nd & 3rd Shifts)
Schedule:  First Shift: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
Second Shift: 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM
Third Shift: 10:30PM - 6:30AM
Location: Switz City, IN 47465
Position Type: Temp to Hire (Harvest Season)

What’s a typical day as a General Operator? You’ll be:

• Performing a variety of seasonally-based duties, including receiving, processing, packaging, and shipping seed crops
• Managing inventory and operating equipment such as sit-down forklifts
• Participating in plant upkeep and maintaining high standards of safety and quality
• Working both indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions, standing on concrete, and lifting up to 60 lbs.
• Utilizing computers and standard operating procedures to ensure optimal production
• Adhering to job site policies, including break area restrictions and safety requirements

This job might be an outstanding fit if you:

• Are at least 18 years old with reliable transportation and can provide a current resume
• Can work 1st shift (6am-2:30pm) or 2nd shift (2pm-10:30pm), with flexibility for seasonal/harvest needs (shifts are Mon-Fri, 8 hours with possible flex)
• Are able to stand and sit for extended periods, perform repetitive tasks, and lift a minimum of 60 lbs.
• Can read and write English and have basic computer skills
• Are able to pass a pre-employment drug and background screening
• Have forklift experience (preferred, but not required; training provided at site)
• Are safety-conscious and have reliable attendance
• Will follow all company policies in this tobacco-free facility (steel-toe boots required; other PPE provided onsite)
