As a privately held organization, Servier is uniquely positioned to advance cutting-edge science, tackle underserved therapeutic areas and make patients the focus of every strategic decision.Role Summary: As a member of the Public Policy team, the Associate Director of Public Affairs & Policy is a critical role within Corporate Affairs and at Servier. This role provides substantive policy expertise for coding, coverage, reimbursement, and access policies to improve access to Servier therapies in the US, with primary responsibility for Neurology policy. The position will serve as the policy lead for Neurology-related federal and state policy developments, while partnering closely with the Associate Director for Policy responsible for Oncology to ensure consistent enterprise alignment across Servier's portfolio. This position reports to the Director, Public Affairs and Policy and works collaboratively across Servier including regular partnership with US colleagues in Market Access, Communications, Regulatory Affairs, and Government Affairs. This role uses policy intelligence and operational support to interpret U.S. federal and state policy-related news, legislation, and regulations, assess implications for Servier's Neurology business, industry, and patients and develop policy recommendations and internal education. This position will act as a Neurology policy subject matter expert at public affairs events and external engagements, supporting engagement with key policy stakeholders.Primary Responsibilities:Collaborate with Corporate Affairs team and internal cross-functional partners to guide policy-related initiatives to address evolving federal and state changes.Represent Public Affairs and Policy as the Neurology policy subject matter expert to colleagues in US Market Access and other internal stakeholders on enterprise project teams, committees, etc., coordinating with the Oncology policy lead where issues span across the portfolio.Participate in trade association work groups as a policy subject matter expert on coding, coverage, reimbursement, Medicare, Medicaid, 340B, IRA, and related access issues, in coordination with the Government Affairs lead.Serve as policy subject matter expert in external engagements with policymakers, agency staff, trade associations, and advocacy stakeholders on payment, coverage, reimbursement, and access issues.Support development of short-term and long-term impact analyses of proposed policies to Servier's U.S. Neurology business and propose and guide Neurology policy strategies at both the federal and state level.Clearly and strategically articulate Servier's positions on assigned Neurology policy issues as the substantive policy lead, under supervision of Policy leadership and in coordination with Government Affairs for external advocacy strategy and the Oncology policy lead for cross-portfolio alignment.Accountable for driving US Corporate Social Responsibility strategy, including charitable giving priorities, compliant review processes, internal coordination, and partnership with US and Global Corporate Affairs colleagues.Candidate Profile: Education and Required Skills: Bachelor's degree required, preferably in the field of health policy, public health, or political science; master's degree preferred. 8+ years of working and/or comparable education on federal and/or state health policy, Medicaid, and Medicare issues in government, or with relevant private sector experience, biopharma policy experience preferred. Consistent record in identifying policy trends affecting the pharmaceutical industry and public health and advancing policy solutions to address potential barriers. Demonstrated commitment to ensuring patient access to innovative medicines and the importance of a thriving biopharmaceutical industry. Experience working with consultants to manage research projects such as regulatory comment letters and agency engagements. Excellent organizational and project management skills—demonstrated ability to independently manage assigned work streams. Ability to manage numerous, competing priorities under pressure while effectively collaborating with internal partners. Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets and compliant corporate giving protocols.Preferred Skills: Deep knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and federal policy, or other comparable experience such as related healthcare policy consulting firm experience. Knowledge and understanding of drug pricing, Medicare healthcare coverage and reimbursement environment, and specifically the Inflation Reduction Act. Experience in Neurology, rare disease, neuro-oncology, or adjacent specialty-care policy is highly desirable; Oncology policy expertise will sit with the other Assistant Director for Policy, with close coordination expected on cross-portfolio issues. Proven ability to analyze policy and regulatory developments to assess business impact and provide strategic recommendations to leadership. Possess exceptional communication skills, both oral and written with the ability to translate complex concepts into clear, concise and actionable insights for leaders and non-technical stakeholders. Demonstrated ability to work across functions, regions and cultures while exhibiting enterprise level leadership with the ability to inspire, motivate and drive results. Knowledge and understanding of healthcare product development and commercialization. An employee's pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. Employees in this position are also eligible for Short-Term and Long-Term incentive programs.
