Production Operations Supervisor
Location: Grimes, IA
Salary: $70,000–$80,000/year
Step into a hands-on leadership role where you’re on the floor, guiding a frontline team and keeping production moving safely, smoothly, and on schedule. You’ll coach people, solve problems, and align the day’s priorities so output and quality stay on target.
A day in this role
Direct a blended team across production lines and material handling activities.
Own daily staffing plans, scheduling, attendance tracking, and overtime decisions.
Hit daily and weekly output goals by aligning resources and clearing bottlenecks.
Track throughput, first-pass quality, equipment downtime, and overall workflow.
Coach, train, and develop team members to elevate skills and performance.
Address performance and attendance issues promptly and professionally.
Champion safety expectations and ensure a compliant, hazard-free environment.
Partner closely with Maintenance, Quality, Engineering, and Supply Chain to resolve issues.
Run daily start-up meetings and communicate production priorities with clarity.
Spot waste and drive efficiency and process improvements across the area.
Support continuous improvement efforts, including Lean, 5S, Kaizen, and Six Sigma practices.
Maintain accurate production, quality, and labor records and documentation.
About you
Proven manufacturing leadership or supervisory background.
Comfortable enforcing accountability around performance and attendance.
Exceptional prioritization in a fast-paced production setting.
Strong problem-solving instinct and decisive decision-making.
Well-versed in safety, quality, and productivity expectations in manufacturing.
Experience with Lean, 5S, Kaizen, or Six Sigma is a strong plus.
