This role will have a unique focus on addressing the growing need for mental health services within Infant and Maternal Health, providing an important resource for patients and families during a critical time in their lives.As part of this newer role, you will have the opportunity to help shape and develop programming that addresses emerging behavioral health needs and fills an important gap in care. You will provide individual, group, and family therapy while helping patients improve their mental health and overall well-being. Your work will directly support the Clinic's mission of caring for life while helping expand access to meaningful, patient-centered behavioral health services.A caregiver in this position works 8:00am—5:00pm.A caregiver who excels in this role will:Utilize specialized clinical knowledge and advanced clinical skills in psychotherapy, clinical counseling, diagnostic interviews, assessments and treatment plans to patients.Provide individual, group, family and crisis counseling.Utilize a clinical focus across the mental health spectrum, from anxiety and depression to bipolar disorder and schizophrenia.Participate in the development and implementation of assessments based on interdisciplinary treatment plans.Consult with team members, statutory / voluntary agencies and relatives to ensure compliance with the patient treatment plan.Act as a liaison between patients, families, community support workers and facilities to obtain information and facilitate discharge planning.Educate and provide resources to patients and families.Supervise and/or train lower-level social workers, students or interns.Process paperwork and complete clinical documentation.Participate in continuing professional education, departmental meetings and teaching.Other duties as assigned.Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling or a related fieldLicensed Independent Social Worker (LISW), or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or Licensed Social Worker (LSW) with no record of substantiated ethics or patient abuse reportsThree years of experience in a behavioral health settingComprehensive knowledge of current psychotherapeutic techniques, theories and practices sufficient to evaluate, diagnose and counsel patientsPhysical Requirements:A high degree of manual dexterity to produce materials on PC; normal or corrected vision; extensive sitting and frequent walking; occasional lifting or carrying up to 25 pounds.Personal Protective Equipment:Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.The policy of Cleveland Clinic Health System and its system hospitals (Cleveland Clinic Health System) is to provide equal opportunity to all of our caregivers and applicants for employment in our drug free environment.
