Job Title: Landscape Irrigation TechnicianClassification: Seasonal - Full Time, HourlyReno Green Landscaping Inc. is seeking a Landscape Irrigation Technician to work in our maintenance department. If you are looking for a great work environment and a company that values you, we would like to hear from you.Overall Purpose:The Landscape Irrigation Technician will be responsible for proper technics for the cultivation and care of the landscaping and grounds surrounding a business or building by using hands, power tools, or equipment. Workers typically perform a variety of tasks which may include digging. This position will also work in crews of 2 or more people, so collaboration and good communication is vital. Leadership skills is needed to monitor and evaluate projects performed by an apprentice.Duties:Clean facilities or sitesDispose of trash or waste materials and recycle them into their assigned areasPlant greenery to improve landscape appearanceRemove snowRake, mulch, and compost leavesPlant seeds, bulbs, foliage, flowering plants, grass, ground covers, trees, or shrubs and apply mulch for protection, using gardening toolsMow and edge lawns, using power mowers or edgersTrim or pick flowers and clean flower bedsAttach wires from planted trees to support stakesFollow planned landscaping designs to determine where to lay sod, sow grass, or plant flowers or foliageCare for established lawns by mulching, aerating, weeding, grubbing, removing thatch, or trimming or edging around flower beds, walks, or wallsPrune or trim trees, shrubs, or hedges, using shears, pruners, or chain sawsWater lawns, trees, or plants, using portable sprinkler systems, hoses, or watering cansOperate vehicles or powered equipment, such as mowers, tractors, twin-axle vehicles, snow blowers, chainsaws, electric clippers, sod cutters, or pruning sawsUse hand tools, such as shovels, rakes, pruning saws, saws, hedge or brush trimmers, or axes.Use a backpack sprayer to apply pesticidesMakes sure to teach the crew how to properly use all tools and machines properly and safelyMakes sure to teach the crew how to properly mow the lawn; prune/trim trees and shrubs; plant flowers; and any other tasks assigned to themIrrigation system trouble shooting and repairProgramming time clocksRepairing/installing valves, lateral lines, drip lines, mainlines and irrigation headsTracing wiresResponsible for maintaining proper watering for plants, trees, shrubs, and lawn to stay greenPruning, edging, trimming, and mowing using various machines and handheld toolsPlant flowers, trees, and shrubsUse company tablets and/or phone to properly clock in/clock outSet up tasks/jobs for irrigation technician apprentice to followAdditional duties/tasks/projects as neededBenefits:Medical benefits for employee and dependents offered at a competitive costCompany paid dental and vision benefits (for employee only).
