Hope Association is currently seeking Direct Support Professionals to join our team! We have full-time, part-time, and relief (as needed/as available) positions available.No experience necessary and we provide FREE, PAID trainings including: CRMA, DSP, First Aid/CPR, and Positive Behavior Supports and InterventionJob Responsibilities:Provides direct care to those with intellectual and developmental disabilities.Supports people to live self-determined livesTeaches and supports people to reach personal goals and enhance personal development, including working, socializing, building and maintaining relationships, academic goals, planning new experiences, following and developing interests, learning new skills, etc..Seeks and connects people to resources and opportunities that may enhance their livesSupports people to have meaningful, valued roles within their communityPerforms personal care tasks, with respect and dignity, to whatever level of assistance a person may need, including assistance with basic personal hygiene and grooming, feeding, and ambulation, medical monitoring, and health care related tasks.Teaches and ensures safetySupports people to schedule and attend appointments and other meaningful engagementsSupports social roles and encourages natural relationshipsEncourages people to participate in all aspects of their lives, as able.Reports abuse, neglect, and exploitation as required for mandated reportersDocument services and report internally and to OADS /APS as requiredPerforms home management functions such as light housekeeping, laundry, bed making, and cleaning.Supports people to plans their meals, shop for groceries, prepare and serve food/meals, and clean-up.Transports individuals to where they need and want to go.Utilizes adaptive equipment, as necessary, to ensure the quality people supported.Follows HIPAA, State and Federal regulations, all laws, and agency policies and practicesProvides all services with respect, and dignity, prioritizing the person-centered needs of people supported.Prioritizes Professional Development and growthWorks independently, and in collaboration within a variety of teamsPrioritizes and ensures high quality services, following Hope Associations Mission and Vision statementPrioritizes and ensures a positive culture and work environment for all members of the teamOther duties as assignedRequirements and skills:Must be 18 years of age or olderMust have full mobilitySuccessful clearance of background checksDrivers LicenseMust have a vehicleAble to drive a larger, passenger van or busVaccinations, NOT including covid vaccination (although recommended)Basic computer skillsWriting/reading skillsHigh school diploma or GEDObtain required certifications through paid trainingsAbility to work on either Saturday and/or SundayBenefits:Health, Dental, and Vision InsuranceLife Insurance and Short Term Disability InsuranceEarned Time (2 weeks to start)12 Paid HolidaysWellness Reimbursement BenefitsPet Policy (yes, we allow pets at work)Years of Service AwardsParental LeaveReferral BonusRetirement PlanTuition ReimbursementGreat Work CultureCelebrations
