Patient Access Representative – Pomona, CA

Location: Pomona, CA
Pay: $23/hr
Contract: 13 weeks
Start Date: September 22, 2026
Schedule: Day Shift | 5x8 hours
Shifts: 7:00 AM–3:30 PM, 7:30 AM–4:00 PM, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM, or 8:30 AM–5:00 PM

We are hiring a Patient Access Representative for a hospital business office in Pomona, CA.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED
• 1–3 years of hospital accounts receivable, medical collections, or healthcare collections experience
• Inpatient and outpatient collection experience required
• Experience with UB-04 facility claims
• Knowledge of hospital billing, CPT/ICD codes, and DRG reimbursement
• Experience with Medicare, Medi-Cal, and commercial payers
• Experience with institutional claim follow-up
• Ability to investigate and appeal denied or underpaid claims
• Strong communication and attention to detail
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and hospital billing/follow-up systems

Responsibilities:

• Follow up with insurance carriers on outstanding balances
• Review AR aging reports and prioritize collections
• Follow up on UB-04/institutional claims
• Investigate and appeal denied or underpaid claims
• Verify eligibility through insurance portals
• Document collection activities and resolve billing discrepancies
