Responsibilities

• Perform blood collection procedures, including venipuncture and capillary draws, in pediatric, geriatric, and adult patients.
• Verify patient demographic information and ensure tubes are labeled correctly in the presence of patients.
• Prepare and process specimens for laboratory testing according to established protocols.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation of procedures performed.
• Create a professional and trusting environment by explaining procedures and addressing patient concerns.
• Adhere to safety, infection control, and confidentiality policies at all times.
• Work independently to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.
• Provide support for various locations as needed, including patient service centers and in-office phlebotomy sites.

Required Skills

• Strong phlebotomy skills, including experience with pediatric and geriatric patients.
• Ability to perform blood draws accurately and safely in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to follow established procedures.
• Organizational skills to manage multiple priorities efficiently.

Additional Skills & Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in California, Nevada, and Washington).
• At least three years of direct phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
• Experience working in a Patient Service Center environment is preferred.
• Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and a clean driving record.
• Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
• Must be able to commute within 20-25 minutes to assigned sites.
• Availability to work at multiple locations, with minimal notice.
