Applied AI Software Engineer, Design Automation, Factory Software

What to Expect We are seeking an Applied AI Software Engineer focused on design automation to join a small, high-performing team building AI agents and tooling that work alongside the architects, engineers, and BIM specialists who design and build our factories. You will design, build, and ship production software that reasons over real design and building-model data and takes real action, automating the workflows that move projects from concept through construction and handover. You will own features end to end, from understanding the design problem through deploying reliable tooling that the project teams depend on day to day. The core challenge of the role is developing a deep understanding of the domain: how a design process actually works, where the source of truth for the model data lives, and what a good answer looks like to the person asking. The most rewarding part is seeing the impact: automation and agents that save designers time, eliminate error-prone manual work, and move large, fast-paced projects forward faster. You will work across modern programming languages, design and BIM tools, database systems, agent frameworks, and LLMs, and you will be expected to have strong software engineering fundamentals and the judgment to know when an agent's output is trustworthy. Strong communication skills and a collaborative, feedback-driven mindset are essential, because building these tools means working closely with the design and engineering experts whose work they support.
