About the Role
The Company is seeking a Director, Assistant General Counsel for Investigations to join their dynamic legal team. The successful candidate will be a strategic leader with a Juris Doctor from an accredited law school and active bar membership in good standing. This role involves overseeing a team of attorneys and investigative professionals, providing strategic direction on a wide range of high-risk matters, and ensuring the company's investigative programs are in line with best practices. The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years of legal experience, with a focus on complex investigations, and a proven track record of managing high-stakes legal matters. Strong executive presence, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to build strong partnerships across the enterprise are essential. Key responsibilities for the Director, Assistant General Counsel include leading and managing a team responsible for internal and external investigations, overseeing responses to government inquiries and regulatory examinations, and developing policies to enhance the company's Investigations Center of Excellence. The role also requires the candidate to have a background in managing or overseeing complex civil litigation, experience with regulatory agencies, and a preference for those with insurance industry experience. The candidate should be adept at analyzing investigation trends, identifying systemic risks, and providing actionable recommendations to executive leadership. A strategic mindset, the ability to make informed decisions, and a commitment to fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement are also important for this position.
