Family Law Associate Attorney

Company Description Soyars & Morgan Law is boutique law firm in downtown San Antonio, that guides our clients through complex family law matters such as divorce and child custody litigation as well as criminal defense and DWI defense. We're seeking a licensed attorney for our family law division, with a successful background in litigation and trials, to advocate for our family law clients. The ideal candidate will have some experience in family law and working knowledge of the Texas Family Code. The ideal candidate will also be comfortable in the court room and not shy away from litigation or fierce advocacy. This is an in person, full-time role, Monday - Friday, during standard business hours. Essential duties include advising clients on legal matter related to family law, drafting legal documents such as motions, representing clients in court hearings, and managing cases with professionalism and diligence. Qualifications Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school Active member of the American Bar Association (ABA) Admission to the Texas Bar and in good standing Evidence of current Texas Driver’s License and automobile insurance Minimum of 0-1 year of experience handling family law cases and litigation in the state of Texas At least some experience with routine casework and litigation including contested court hearings/trials, mediations, drafting and filing pleadings, drafting and responding to discovery, drafting orders, court appearances, and client services.
