Restaurant Shift Leader

The Role:

As a shift leader you'll play a key part in running our everyday restaurant operations and ensuring exemplary customer service during your shift. You will be responsible for opening/closing the restaurant, making sure that we have the team that we need to achieve, creating and following a shift plan, completing shift change responsibilities and determining par levels by writing a prep list based on anticipated sales.

You will provide daily communication to reinforce top priorities of the day and week, and communicate tasks between the Operations Manager (OM) and the General Manager (GM). you will run detail-oriented shifts overseeing the food quality, hospitality and overall team member and guest satisfaction. you will participate in on-going training for our team through FUSIAN U, and participate in progress reports to continually grow our team.

You Will:
• Arrive before your team expects you; for a shift, manager meeting, progress report, etc.
• Open and close the restaurant according to checklist and specific restaurant needs
• Communicate between shifts to the OM, GM and other management team members
• Successfully create a shift plan, advise and change team member shift plan to achieve maximum efficiency and through-put
• Lead pre-shift mindset meetings for the team to understand top priorities of the day
• Work with crew to create a prep list and fulfill food par levels to meet the demand of anticipated sales, and additional prep needed for wholesale and events
• Review the inventory of the restaurant and make management aware if we are running low, assist with product transfers and complete packing slip documentation, check-in, review and accept supplier deliveries based on accuracy and standards
• Place nightly produce orders based on predictive sales (stay ahead and manage fresh product rotation)
• Maintain high food quality and food prep standards to ensure the safety and health of our guests
• Manage customer service for your shift, ensuring the team serves food that meets FUSIAN's standards and follows our recipes
• Set-up and reconcile the AM/PM cash drawer and ensure daily deposits are placed securely in the safe
• Be responsible for handling your FUSIAN location's key, and understand that the key and anything inside the restaurant is property of FUSIAN, Inc.
• Attend and contribute to weekly manager meetings, bringing critical notes and feedback regarding the team, training, shift execution, team morale and progress of the team through FUSIAN U
• Serve as "manager on duty" when running a shift
• Maintain a valid Level I - Person in Charge certification to properly follow and implement food code standards inside and outside of the restaurant
• Maintain cleanliness of the entire restaurant and ensure cleanliness and functionality of all equipment
• Hold team members accountable for their shifts, attitude and performance at work; complete progress reports, training notes and take disciplinary action when needed
• Complete all task-lists, and check-ins
• Complete and communicate the shift-change checklist
• Consistently bring new ideas to build and maintain a great work culture through team building and positive interactions
• Offer world-class hospitality and oversee the team's delivery of hospitality to our guests daily
