The average assigned patient census will be 8, which may comprise patient coverage for two units/providers.''Does this position require Patient Care?YesEssential Functions-Provides clinical services including pharmacotherapy and psychotherapy. -Communicates with other providers of mental health and medical services as appropriate. -Maintains contact with family members as appropriate. -Documents in the record by the completion of treatment plans, patient encounter forms, appropriate progress notes, clinical summaries and other documentation in accordance with hospital policies. -Provides interface with payers and managed care organizations through the completion of timely and effective reviews and necessary authorizations. -Participates in program and hospital administrative activities (e.g., staff meetings, CQI, hospital committees, etc.) -Maintains awareness of medicolegal/risk management issues.QualificationsEducationDoctor of Medicine or equivalent medical degree requiredCan this role accept experience in lieu of a degree?NoLicenses and CredentialsExperienceFormal Residency education in a program approved by the RRC of the ACGME 3-5 years requiredKnowledge, Skills and Abilities- Experience in diagnosis, psychotherapy, psychopharmacology and other somatic therapies, the formulation of treatment plans and the conduct of patient-specific treatment programs.
