Job Title: Senior Accountant – Construction & Job Costing Location: Milwaukee, WI – Onsite Type: Direct-Hire, Full-Time Compensation: Competitive salary ( $95K+ plus discretionary annual bonus ), Parking, Access to Healthcare, Dental, and Vision Insurance Plan of Choice, and 401K Summary Chamberlain Advisors is partnering with a nationally recognized design-build architecture firm specializing in financial institutions, retail environments, and corporate spaces to identify a Senior Accountant to support core financial operations within a dynamic, project-based environment. This role plays a critical part in maintaining financial accuracy, supporting month-end close processes, and ensuring compliance across multi-state operations. The ideal candidate brings strong experience in construction accounting and job costing, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and demonstrates ownership over financial reporting, reconciliations, and tax compliance. This individual will work closely with executive leadership, including the CFO and Controller, to support strategic financial initiatives. Responsibilities Lead the month-end close process, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation Prepare and review monthly financial reports in collaboration with the CFO and Controller Manage sales and use tax filings across multiple states Maintain and validate general ledger accuracy, including recurring job cost entries and account reviews Oversee electronic timesheet reporting (HH2), including system administration, employee setup, and training Compile and post intercompany transactions and reconciliations Support payroll-related accounting activities, including bonuses and employee advances Generate daily banking activity, including deposits and positive pay files Prepare and distribute 1099 reporting and support year-end close activities Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and audit support, including state tax audits Process and reconcile employee expense reports tied to job costing Provide backup support for credit card reconciliations and cost reclassifications Assist with licensing and permitting as needed Contribute to process improvements and cross-functional financial initiatives Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 2–5+ years of accounting experience Direct experience with construction accounting and job costing (required) Strong understanding of general ledger, reconciliations, and financial reporting Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities Preferred Qualifications CPA or progress toward certification Experience with Sage Intacct, Procore, or HH2 time tracking systems Experience supporting audits, tax filings, and multi-entity environments Background in drafting, construction documentation, or estimating Why Work with Chamberlain?
