Position Summary
Universal Utilities is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Technician to perform meter installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting services. This role involves traveling along an assigned weekly route to customer locations and working outdoors in a variety of conditions. The ideal candidate is comfortable working independently, enjoys hands-on technical work, and has a strong commitment to safety and customer service.
Key Responsibilities
Install, replace, and maintain utility meters
Troubleshoot meter issues and perform necessary repairs
Accurately document work performed and report findings
Travel to assigned locations according to a scheduled weekly route
Ensure compliance with company procedures and safety standards
Interact professionally with customers when on-site
Maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicles in good working order
Qualifications
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
Willing and able to travel regularly as part of an assigned route
Mechanical or technical aptitude preferred
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Basic computer or mobile device proficiency for reporting and documentation
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift and carry equipment as required
Ability to stand, walk, bend, crawl, and kneel for extended periods
Comfortable working in outdoor environments
