Work Environment\n

This role is primarily remote, allowing professionals the flexibility to work from home while providing care in an outpatient office setting. Our hours of operation are Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional evening shifts as required by patient needs.   • Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments specifically designed to understand the unique needs of older adults.

  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that account for cognitive, physical, and social factors affecting elderly patients.

  • Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions such as individual and family therapy, focusing on various geriatric psychiatric conditions.

  • Work in collaboration with geriatric psychiatrists and multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic care for patients.

  • Deliver crisis intervention services during mental health emergencies involving elderly individuals, ensuring prompt and skilled support.

  • Educate patients and their families about mental health disorders, treatment options, and available community resources, fostering better understanding and engagement in care.

  • Maintain accurate, confidential patient documentation in accordance with legal and ethical standards, utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems.

  • Participate actively in team meetings, case consultations, and ongoing professional development to stay updated on best practices in geriatric mental health.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your primary focus will be on the geriatric population, addressing their distinct mental health challenges. You will engage with older adults facing various issues such as depression, anxiety, cognitive impairments, and difficult life transitions, ensuring a safe and supportive therapeutic environment tailored to their specific needs.

Qualifications\n

  • Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Professional Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • \n
  • Active licensure as an LCMFT, LCPC, LCP, LCSW, LSCSW, or Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) in the State of Kansas.
  • \n
  • Demonstrated expertise in geriatric mental health disorders and evidence-based treatment practices.
  • \n
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, especially when dealing with elderly patients and their families.
  • \n
  • Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and related technologies.
  • \n
  • Ability to work well within a collaborative multidisciplinary team environment.

Preferred Experience\n

  • Minimum of two years of post-licensure experience in a mental health counseling role, ideally with a focus on elderly populations.

Compensation and Benefits\n

The annual salary for this position ranges from $75,000 to $100,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
