Cross Country Nurses is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg / Telemetry for a travel nursing job in Albemarle, North Carolina. Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Med Surg / Telemetry Discipline: RN Start Date: 09/28/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Job Summary: Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Medical Surgical with Telemetry at a facility located in Albemarle, North Carolina. This position involves providing patient care within a 27-bed unit, with an emphasis on stroke, COPD, chest pain, altered mental status, and gastrointestinal bleed diagnoses. The role requires coordinating care and utilizing specialized skills to support patient recovery and safety. Job Details: Schedule: Nights shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week. Required Qualifications: Valid licensure as a registered nurse, with current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications. A minimum of 18 months of Medical Surgical Telemetry experience. The ideal candidate has experience with stroke assessments, cardiac rhythm interpretation, chest tube management, PIV starts, trach care, NG tube placement, drain/tube management, PCA pump management, and medication GTT management including cardiac drips, Heparin, blood products, and IVF. Preferred Qualifications: Not specified. Float: Floating within the region and scope of practice may be required to other facilities within the designated region, including multi-facility coverage if needed. Additional Information: Orientation includes 2 days of departmental training. Travel is within the region, with consideration given to facility needs and float requirements. Handling of patient care may include inserting Foley catheters if certified and removing IVs for discharge. Support roles such as CNA and Receptionist/HUC are part of the team, with duties including vital sign monitoring, ADLs, and reception duties. Technology utilized includes Epic EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Philips monitors. Shift rotation occurs every 6 weeks, with every other weekend work. Travelers will work approximately 75% of holidays. Up to 6 days off for RT are accepted, excluding holidays, with the possibility to add time at the end of the contract if needed.
