Litigation Attorney

Position Title: Litigation Attorney

Take ownership of substantive litigation without getting lost inside a massive firm. A well-established Southern California law firm is seeking a Litigation Attorney to independently manage civil litigation matters from intake through resolution. This attorney will handle discovery, motion practice, depositions, mediations, and trial preparation while working on varied matters that require strong judgment, organization, and attention to detail.

The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of civil litigation experience, understands California civil procedure, and can confidently move cases forward without heavy oversight. The firm is looking for a capable, grounded attorney who works well with others, communicates professionally with clients and colleagues, and brings confidence without ego.

Salary Range: $135,000-$195,000+ / Year, DOE

Responsibilities

• Manage civil litigation matters from intake through settlement, mediation, or trial
• Develop case strategy and independently move matters through each stage of litigation
• Draft and respond to written discovery
• Research, draft, and argue motions and other litigation filings
• Prepare for and take depositions
• Represent clients throughout mediation and other dispute resolution proceedings
• Prepare cases for trial, including evidence, witnesses, strategy, and supporting materials
• Maintain organization and attention to detail across a diverse caseload with multiple deadlines
• Communicate directly with clients and collaborate closely with attorneys and support staff

Requirements

• 3+ years of substantive civil litigation experience
• Active California Bar membership in good standing
• Experience with trusts and estates litigation, real estate litigation, business litigation, or another civil litigation practice
• Strong understanding of California civil procedure, discovery procedures and law, and motion practice
• Demonstrated experience serving and responding to discovery
• Strong motion drafting and legal writing capabilities
• Deposition and mediation experience
• Trial experience preferred
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Professional, collaborative, and client-focused approach with the ability to work autonomously without sacrificing teamwork
