Key Responsibilities

• Provide assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) , which may include:

  • Bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and incontinence care

  • Assistance with transfers, mobility, and use of assistive devices

• Assist with Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADLs) , such as:

  • Light housekeeping of client’s areas, laundry, and maintaining a clean, safe environment

  • Meal planning, simple meal preparation, and ensuring adequate hydration and nutrition

  • Support with organizing personal items and daily routines

• Provide medication reminders as directed (no med administration beyond scope unless properly credentialed and delegated per Maryland regulations and agency policy).

• Offer companionship and supervision to promote safety, comfort, and emotional well-being.

• Support community integration as outlined in the POS, including:

  • Accompanying client to appointments, errands, or community activities (if approved)

  • Encouraging appropriate social interaction and engagement

• Observe and promptly report changes in the client’s condition, behavior, environment, or safety concerns to the supervising RN/Agency.

• Accurately document services provided each shift in accordance with the Plan of Service, payer requirements, and agency procedures (e.g., time sheets, visit notes, electronic/waiver documentation).

• Maintain professional boundaries, confidentiality (HIPAA) , dignity, and respect at all times.

• Follow all agency policies, emergency procedures, infection control, and safety protocols .

• Collaborate with the client, family, and agency team to ensure services remain aligned with the Plan of Service.

  Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.

• CNA, HHA, or relevant direct care experience strongly preferred (required if specified by payer/program).

• Current CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).

• Ability to follow written Plan of Service and care instructions .

• Warm, patient, respectful demeanor; ability to support client choice and independence.

• Reliable transportation and punctuality for all assigned shifts.

• Must complete required background checks and any program-specific clearances per Maryland regulations and Amysville policy.

• Ability to lift/assist safely as needed and perform physical aspects of the job.

  Work Conditions & Compensation

• Part-time position; specific schedule and hours based on authorized services in the client’s Plan of Service.

• Compensation: $17 - $18.50 per hour, based on experience and credentials.

• Training and ongoing supervision provided by Amysville Home Health.
