Medical Biller

Job Description Foothill Dermatology Medical Center is in need of a Medical Biller, Full time position MUST HAVE ONE YEAR EXPERIENCE Reponsibilites include and not limited to: Review patient accounts and billing information for accuracy before claim submission. Prepare and submit electronic and paper medical claims to insurance companies and other third-party payers. Verify that claims contain accurate patient demographics, insurance information, provider information, diagnosis codes, procedure codes, modifiers, units, and required documentation. Identify and correct billing errors before claims are submitted. Ensure claims are submitted within payer and timely-filing requirements. Monitor claim status and follow up on outstanding claims. Review Explanation of Benefits (EOBs), Electronic Remittance Advice (ERAs), and payer correspondence. Post insurance payments, adjustments, contractual allowances, and patient responsibility accurately. Reconcile payments and identify discrepancies. Process secondary and tertiary claims when applicable. Maintain accurate documentation of billing activity and claim follow-up. Identify the reason for denied, rejected, or underpaid claims. Correct billing errors and resubmit claims when appropriate. Prepare and submit reconsiderations, appeals, and supporting documentation. Follow up with insurance companies regarding unresolved claims. Maintain documentation of appeals and payer communications. Experience working with EOBs and ERAs.
