About the Team DoorDash is looking for an Engineering Manager with strong product sense to oversee building out transportation and logistics strategies for long-distance deliveries across the US. This team is in charge of making big bets to enable DoorDash to think outside of the traditional food delivery box and unlock new opportunities. This is a highly cross-functional team that focuses on both zero‑to‑one initiatives as well as scaling mid‑maturity businesses to help unlock merchant growth and earnings opportunities for drivers. The team’s charter will span mobile, backend and web components and involves problems like integrating with external transportation aggregators, developing our in‑house TMS and capabilities. The end goal is to build industry‑leading mid‑mile transportation and logistics systems that enable any third‑party business to deliver their items anywhere in their city and across the US. About the Role Provide technical guidance, leadership and development for a team growing to 8+ engineers across Android, FullStack and Backend. Own the hiring process for your team, in partnership with recruiting, to grow a diverse and inclusive team. Collaborate with business and engineering leaders at multinational corporations to understand their business needs and formulate them into a world‑class product. Engage with key internal business stakeholders to define the roadmap and vision for our product. Compensation The successful candidate’s starting pay will fall within the pay range listed below and is determined based on job‑related factors including skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. Base salary is localized according to an employee’s work location. Ranges are market‑dependent and may be modified in the future. For hourly roles: Vacation accrued at about 1 hour for every 25.97 hours worked (e.g. about 6.7 hours/month if working 40 hours/week; about 3.4 hours/month if working 20 hours/week), and paid sick time accrued at 1 hour for every 30 hours worked (e.g. about 5.8 hours/month if working 40 hours/week; about 2.9 hours/month if working 20 hours/week). Pay Range The national base pay range for this position within the United States, including Illinois and Colorado, is USD 193,800–285,000 .
