Registered NursePH Ops of Dallas - Dallas, TX 75231Position SummaryThe Registered Nurse plays an integral role in providing high quality customer service and clinical care (pursuant to scope of license) to facility customers. The RN is responsible for leading and supporting the goals for shift objectives to enhance team efficiency and customer satisfaction.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesInitiates and leads team conferences in development of individualized nursing care plansPerforms efficiently in emergency patient care situations following established protocols, remaining calm, informing appropriate persons, and documenting eventsDemonstrates knowledge of legal issues, including patient confidentiality and risk management in all aspects of patient care and unit functioningDocuments patient care and unit activities in a timely, accurate, and concise mannerAccurately and promptly implements physicians' ordersObtain data for electronic Admission Data RecordAdministers medications, starts IVs and performs treatments for assigned residents, and documents that treatment as required by facility, local, state and federal rules and regulationsParticipates in orientation and in-service training for personnelAssists physicians with special tests and procedures within the scope of state specified Nursing Practice ActEnsures that supplies are utilized economically and that equipment is clean and maintained in a safe mannerCoordinates nursing care of residents when scheduled for therapy or procedures by other departmentsAssists with or institutes emergency measures for sudden adverse developments in residentsMotivates and provides work direction (direct, check, review, organize and coordination) to C.N.As and unit coordinators (no authority to hire, fire or discipline)Supervises nursing unit, which includes directing the nursing staff to extent permitted by State Practice ActAdheres to infection control guidelinesCompetenciesProvides therapeutic and rehabilitative care in accordance with nursing care planGives accurate and thorough report at change of shiftCollaborates with C.N.A. regarding patients current and change of statusCollaborates with patients Inter-Disciplinary Care TeamDelegates responsibility appropriatelyAccuracy of documentationTimeliness of documentation (real-time)Perform IV therapy on patients within LN scope of practiceAdministers medication accurately, as evidenced by the EMR and lack of negative patient outcomesEncourages patient growth and independence as care progression warrantsTakes a proactive approach to checking and stocking suppliesPureHealth Culture PureHealth is a high performance, ever-evolving environment propelled by collaboration through our Teams of Excellence (T.O.E.) This role requires regular walking to various locations around the facility. This role also routinely comes into contact with patients who may have contagious illnesses. Team member is expected to adhere to facilitys no-smoking policy.Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and stooping all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 60 pounds.Position Type and Expected Hours of Work This is a position in a post-acute setting that is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Must have an ability to learn new systems 4. Ability to work with a culturally diverse population 5. Must have positive communication skills and demonstrated adequate maturity and patience 6. Proficient in the English language. Excellent communication (verbal and written), customer service and interpersonal skills 7. Must have good organizational skills with attention to detail 8. Must be able to successfully prioritize workload, demonstrate initiative, and analyze situations to make sound decisions 9. Must be observant and recognize cleaning needs 10. Must show initiative and take action on observed needs 11. Self-directing with the ability to work with minimal direct supervision 12. Ability to react decisively and swiftly in emergency situationsRequired Education/ExperienceHigh School Diploma or EquivalentGraduate of an accredited RN programRequired License/CertificationValid Texas RN LicenseCurrent CPR certificationPreferred Education/ExperienceCollege/University Degree in NursingA minimum of one (1) year nursing experience in a SNF
