It greatly influences the total guest experience. The position is responsible for directly assisting the bartenders and the all-around beverage program The bar-back helps clean and sanitize all work areas, as well as practicing safe food handling. The bar-back has a strong, confident presence behind the bar and at the bar top that is derived from the coaching and teaching from bartenders.Your Day-to-DayResponsible for maintaining stock, assisting during service, and providing go-to support for all your bartenders' needs.Adhere to LodgeWorks attendance policy.Adhere to OSHA and LodgeWorks policies to ensure a safe work environment.Support the beverage operation of the outlet through timely bussing and resetting of the bar.Running food and beverage items while engaging in polite, responsive and timely interaction with guests and teammates including basic menu descriptions.Communicate, coordinate and work well with other team members.Support bartenders as directed with pre-shift prep, post-shift close, and in real time during the shift.Maintain a clean, hygienic and organized work environment including stocking of supplies, washing and polishing glassware, folding napkins, cleaning menus, sanitizing tables, etc.Stock the bar as necessary in accordance with the current business level.Explain basic details of food dishes and beverages at time of delivery to guests.Prepare basic non-alcoholic beverages such as water, coffee, tea, etc.Be an expert in the organization of the bar and where things are in the building as a whole.Flexibility to work different shifts, including on the weekends, holidays and nights.Assist in any other tasks as requested by management.Who You AreA team player with a heart for hospitality.An excellent communicator.Customer-focused, with guests, clients and employees at the forefront of your thinking.Nimble and able to adapt to change quickly.Comfortable following directions, guidelines and work objectives.Capable of exerting up to 60 pounds of force occasionally.Capable of standing for an entire shift or for an extended amount of time.BenefitsWe are proud to offer competitive wages and the following benefits for full-time employees:PTOHotel and restaurant discounts available at select LodgeWorks propertiesHealth, vision and dental benefits401(k) plans with matching contributionsPaid holidaysShort-term and long-term disability (company sponsored)Referral bonusesFlexible spending accountsLodgeWorks is an equal opportunity employer and values diversity at our company.
