General Managers are central to the success of Happier Grocery and take full ownership of their four walls. They are accountable for training and developing all team members, leading by example, product quality, and customer experience, and maintaining strong operational standards through effective inventory and performance management.

General Managers are also responsible for hiring great talent, driving business growth and continuous improvement, and may support light project work that contributes to the broader business and their own professional development.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• The GM plays a key role in ensuring excellent customer service. They should be visible and accessible to customers, addressing inquiries, resolving complaints, and ensuring that customers have a positive shopping experience.
• Oversee a team of grocery department associates, assign tasks, provide training, and ensure that all employees are following established procedures and guidelines.
• Step in to cover scheduling gaps or time off in the store schedule
• Create a motivating and engaging team culture by consistently celebrating, training, coaching, and mentoring your team.
• Responsible for ensuring that grocery displays are attractive, well-stocked, and properly signed and must implement effective merchandising strategies to increase sales, promote new products, and maximize profitability.
• Stay up to date on market trends, competitor pricing, and customer preferences to make informed decisions and drive sales.
• Must adhere to all food safety and sanitation regulations, ensuring that proper storage, handling, and disposal procedures are followed.
• Regularly inspect the grocery department for cleanliness and report any maintenance issues.
• Own all ordering, vendor relations, waste management, inventory counts and general compliance of our systems
• Maintain operational excellence achieving company standard scores and above via our auditing platform
• Develop meaningful ties with neighborhood businesses and people to help grow local brand loyalty
• Monitor sales, track expenses, and manage the department's budget.
• Grow your store AOV, meet sales goals through creative initiatives and gain team buy in to share the same vision
• Ensure your location meets operations and product quality audit standards, quickly action any feedback to improve

REQUIREMENTS

• 5-7 years Management experience
• 4+ years of experience managing and leading single-store unit operations in high growth hospitality or consumer brands
• Excellent customer service skills
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
• Demonstrated ability to lead a team
• Excellent attention to detail
• Financial savvy
• Proficient in Microsoft Office products
• Ability to working in a faced paced environment with the ability to multi-task
• Open availability: ability to work mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays
• Ability to lift/push 25-50 pounds
• Stand/walk for an 8-hour shift including walking up and down stairs
