Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN with Level 2 trauma experience for a 13-week assignment requiring VA or compact RN licensure.

Details

• Operating Room unit within an 18-bed surgical suite
• Staffing mix of RNs and Surgical Techs, with dedicated Charge RN, Service Line Experts, and OR Support Technicians on day shift
• Night shift includes trauma team and additional on-call coverage
• Performs procedures across orthopedics (general, total joint, spine), neuro, general/GYN/urology (including DaVinci robotic surgery), vascular, and thoracic specialties
• Common procedures include spinal fusion, total joint replacements, ortho trauma, and DaVinci robotic procedures (prostatectomy, colectomy, gastric bypass)
• Uses Meditech EMR
• Shift runs 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM
• Floating to OB OR required
• Weekend and night coverage required for vacancies
• On-call required, approximately four 12-hour shifts per 8-week schedule

Requirements

• Active VA or compact RN license required
• BLS certification required
• Additional certifications specific to role and aligned with state/federal regulations (e.g., CST license) as applicable
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Level 2 or greater trauma experience required
• Expert spine and ortho skills preferred
• US SSN and date of birth required for consideration (Canadian SSN not accepted)
• One professional reference required
• No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Provide scrub and circulator support across surgical specialties as part of a team-based OR environment

• Dress code, attendance, and unit policies reviewed on first day of contract
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; local candidates will not be considered
