Montessori Certified Lead Teacher, Primary

Lead Primary Montessori Teacher (Ages 3–6) Job Summary We are seeking a passionate, dedicated, and credentialed Lead Primary Montessori Teacher to join our vibrant educational community. In this role, you will guide a mixed‑age classroom of children aged 3 to 6 years old. You will be responsible for creating a nurturing, safe, and stimulating "prepared environment" that honors the unique potential of each child. About Us Immanuel Montessori School is located in Carroll County, Maryland. We are part of the Maryland State Department of Education’s Blueprint for Success and Excels programs, and are currently a recipient of a Pre‑kindergarten Expansion Grant that helps provide pre‑school for all of Maryland’s eligible children. As a verified member of the American Montessori Society, we are committed to continuous improvement and the Montessori philosophy. Key Responsibilities Classroom Leadership & Instruction Prepare the environment : Maintain a clean, ordered, and beautiful classroom equipped with complete Montessori materials. Deliver presentations : Introduce individual and group lessons tailored to each child's sensitive periods and developmental needs. Observe and document : Conduct continuous, detailed observations of student progress to guide lesson planning and individualized learning pathways. Model grace and courtesy : Cultivate a respectful, kind, and inclusive classroom community using positive discipline tools. Communication & Collaboration Partner with families : Maintain transparent, regular communication via newsletters, student portfolios, and progress reports. Conduct conferences : Lead parent‑teacher conferences twice per school year to discuss academic, social, and emotional growth. Mentor assistant staff : Supervise, guide, and collaborate effectively with classroom assistant teachers and interns. Engage with community : Participate in staff meetings, professional development, open houses, and parent education events. Required Qualifications Montessori Credential : A valid Primary (Early Childhood 3–6) credential. Experience : Minimum of 2–3 years of experience running a Primary Montessori classroom as a lead guide is preferred, but not required. Compliance : Ability to pass local, state, and federal background checks and licensing requirements. Physical Requirements : Ability to work at the child's physical level, sit on the floor, bend, and lift up to 30 lbs.
