Airport Manager - General Aviation & Operations

Schedule: Full-Time (Airport operates 7 days/week; manager required on weekends for emergencies or call-outs only) Role Overvie wWe are seeking an experienced, business-minded Airport Operations & Aviation Manage r to provide executive leadership, operational oversight, financial management, and regulatory compliance for a thriving regional general aviation airport in North Texas Serving as the face of the airport, this role balances daily airfield operations with long-range strategic planning, capital improvement projects, FAA/TxDOT grant management, and stakeholder relations. The ideal candidate brings strong aviation operational experience paired with proven executive leadership and municipal/public administration capabilit y. Key Responsibilit iesExecutive & Airfield Operatio ns: Oversee day-to-day operations across 502 acres, including airfield safety, facility maintenance, runway inspections, customer experience, and full-service/self-service fueling operations (utilizing QTPod and FBO Directo r).Financial Stewardship & Leasi ng: Develop and administer the airport’s ~$2.4M annual operating budget. Manage financial reporting, revenue generation, accounts receivable, contract negotiations, and lease administration for 86 fully occupied hangars and tenant faciliti es.Capital Improvement Projects & Grant Manageme nt: Lead active infrastructure projects (runway fog seal, striping, drainage, and new lighting) while ensuring strict compliance with FAA and TxDOT grant assurances, project schedules, and contractor executi on.Stakeholder & Board Leadersh ip: Represent the airport with governing leadership, FAA, TxDOT Aviation, tenants, and community partners. Prepare agendas, presentations, and project updates for monthly Mayor/Council and Stakeholder committee meetin gs.Team Leadership & Developme nt: Direct and mentor a team of 6 airport staff members (Line Technicians and support personnel), fostering a high-performance culture centered on safety, service, and operational readine ss. Qualifications & Requirem entsEducat ion: Bachelor’s degree in Aviation Management, Airport Management, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field required (Master’s degree preferr ed).Experie nce:Minimum 5 years of progressive airport operations or aviation management experie nce.Minimum 3 years in a direct supervisory or leadership r ole.Technical Knowle dge: In-depth understanding of FAA regulations, airport compliance, Capital Improvement Programs (CIP), grant administration, and airfield safety protoc ols.Certificati ons: Certified Member (C.M.) or Accredited Airport Executive (A.A.E.) through AAAE preferred (or willingness to obtain post-hi re).
