We are currently searching on behalf of our client, an established construction firm with a growing Honolulu office. The company delivers high-profile, technically demanding projects in Hawaii, including federal work. They are known for disciplined project execution, a strong safety and quality culture, and a leadership team that invests in the people running their projects.

THE OPPORTUNITY

This role is for an experienced Project Manager who has already run complex construction projects and wants more ownership. You will report to the Program Manager and take full responsibility for high-risk, high-profile projects from inception to completion. You will lead the project team, manage the client relationship, and control budget, schedule, safety, and quality. You will also have a voice with business line leadership on how projects are pursued and executed. Our client is looking for someone who can step in and lead from day one.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

- Lead project planning. Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables, and build comprehensive project plans covering tasks, timelines, resources, and dependencies.

- Run high-profile projects. Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of high-risk, high-profile construction projects from inception to completion.

- Own budget and schedule. Develop and manage project budgets, schedules, and resource plans in partnership with program management.

- Manage project risk. Identify and analyze risks early, and put mitigation strategies in place before they impact cost or schedule.

- Drive safety and quality. Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, codes, and company policies, and drive quality assurance and quality control throughout construction.

- Track performance. Monitor progress, milestones, and deliverables against KPIs, run regular project reviews, and take corrective action when a project moves off plan.

- Manage stakeholders. Build strong relationships with clients, vendors, and internal teams. Set clear expectations, address concerns, and resolve conflicts throughout the project lifecycle.

- Report to leadership. Deliver regular status reports and presentations that cover achievements, challenges, and recommended actions.

- Lead the project team. Direct and mentor Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers, Engineers, and Superintendents assigned to your projects, and allocate resources where they are needed most.

- Support business decisions. Work with business line leadership on multi-project execution strategies, resource and budget planning, and go/no-go decisions on upcoming opportunities.

- Improve the process. Contribute to project management processes, tools, and best practices, and carry lessons learned across projects and teams.

WHAT YOU BRING

- Proven PM experience. 5+ years as a construction Project Manager with a track record of delivering complex projects on time and within budget.

- Federal experience. Hands-on experience managing federal or DoD construction projects is required.

- Technical command. In-depth knowledge of project management methodologies and tools, with practical application of the regulations and standards that govern high-risk, high-profile projects.

- Software proficiency. Proficient with Primavera P6 for project scheduling.

- Leadership presence. Strong team management skills, with the ability to motivate cross-functional teams and mentor junior project staff.

- Communication skills. Clear communicator who can influence and negotiate with stakeholders at all levels, from field teams to client leadership.

- Sound judgment. Strategic mindset and a proven ability to make informed, timely decisions in high-pressure environments.

- Education. Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field. Equivalent experience is considered.

- Certification. PMP or equivalent certification is highly desirable, not required.

- Other requirements. Valid driver's license and the ability to pass a background check.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

$120,000 - $160,000 annually, depending on experience.
