Job Title: Neuro/PCU Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 Years License: Must have valid state license or Compact license prior to start Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Telemetry competency required Description: About the Position Position/Specialty: Neuro/PCU RN Ratios: 1:4-5 Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend On-call Requirement: No Floating Requirement: Yes, to meet facility needs between like units Required Years of Experience: 2 Years First-timers accepted: No Special Requirements: Telemetry competency required Scheduling: Flexible scheduling is preferred, block schedule requests can be submitted but not guaranteed Patient Age Groups: Adults, Geriatrics Daily Census: 14 Patient Diagnoses: Respiratory, Cardiac, Neuro, COVID Interdisciplinary Support: Includes Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Interpretation Services, Phlebotomy, Radiology, Social Services, Rapid Response Teams, and Pharmacy Special Equipment: Bipap, Cardizem, Amiodarone, Cardene, Nitro (not for chest pain) Hurricane Season: All employees may be assigned to emergency response teams during hurricane season, which runs from June through November, with peak activity in August and September.
