RN Research Nurse Coordinator I - Pediatric Clinical Research Unit (PCRU)

Position Summary Join a dedicated and dynamic team committed to advancing pediatric health. This position is in the Pediatric Clinical Research Unit (PCRU), an outpatient research unit located at St. Louis Children’s Hospital. It is primarily a weekday and daytime position. The role focuses on coordination and implementation of research studies, providing direct patient care, data collection, and data management. Responsibilities Work under the Principal Investigator’s guidance to meet study objectives. Provide direct patient care in accordance with protocol, including assessments, phlebotomy, IV placement, infusion monitoring, port access, injections, ECGs, vital signs, and other nursing skills. Administer and oversee medication and investigational product administration. Obtain, handle, process, and ship research specimens per protocol. Collect health information, monitor for and report adverse events. Perform data collection, source documentation, and data entry. Coordinate study procedures, screen and enroll subjects, maintain continuity of care and research integrity. Collaborate with sponsor research associates during monitoring activities by providing documentation and clarifications. Perform other duties incidental to described work. Working Conditions Location: St. Louis Children’s Hospital outpatient research unit. Environment: Normal office environment with exposure to blood‑borne pathogens. Requires protective devices. Patient care setting; sitting at desk or table, standing, walking, bending, crouching, stooping; occasional lifting up to 25 lbs. Equipment: Office and clinical/diagnostic equipment. Required Qualifications Graduate of an accredited nursing program. Current RN licensure in Missouri and/or Illinois. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification with hands‑on skills. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). One year of clinical research experience. Experience with data management, EHR, and statistical analysis software (SAS). Strong clinical research skills and communication. Salary Grade S25: $60,000 – $99,900 annually. Individual rates within the range will be determined by qualifications and performance.
