Dietary Aide Full Time Manual Labor Conroe, TX, US Dietary Aide – Healthcare Food Service Location: Nexus Neurorecovery Center – Conroe, Texas Position Summary Nexus Neurorecovery Center is seeking a dependable and service-focused Dietary Aide to support food preparation and meal service for our patients in Conroe, Texas. The Dietary Aide assists with preparing and serving meals, assembling accurate patient trays, delivering meals and nutritional formulas, washing dishes, and maintaining a clean and sanitary kitchen environment. This position works closely with the dietary team to ensure meals are appetizing, properly prepared, and consistent with physician-ordered diets and individual food preferences. The ideal candidate is reliable, attentive to detail, comfortable working in a healthcare environment, and committed to treating patients, visitors, and team members with warmth and respect. Key Responsibilities Assist cooks with meal preparation, portioning, tray assembly, and meal service. Prepare and serve physician-ordered therapeutic diets, including pureed, low-sodium, mechanically altered, and other modified diets. Check meal trays for accuracy before service and delivery. Prepare and deliver patient snacks according to established snack schedules. Prepare and deliver morning and evening nutritional formulas using approved recipes, sanitation practices, and delivery schedules. Transport meals, trays, snacks, and formulas to the appropriate nursing stations and patient-care areas. Follow the Food Safety Manual and all established food-preparation procedures. Monitor and document dishwasher and pot-washing temperatures, sanitation levels, and equipment function. Wash and sanitize utensils, cookware, serving equipment, trays, and dishes. Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen and cafeteria, including sweeping, mopping, removing garbage, and cleaning equipment. Store, rotate, and organize food and supplies according to food-safety requirements. Help ensure adequate food and supply levels are maintained. Follow facility policies regarding sanitation, infection prevention, workplace safety, and Texas health regulations. Keep work areas clean and free of hazards. Interact with patients, visitors, and team members in a courteous, respectful, and professional manner. Use time efficiently and complete assigned duties without compromising quality or safety. Demonstrate flexibility with scheduled hours and days based on departmental needs. Perform additional duties as assigned. Qualifications Education High school diploma or equivalent required. Experience At least one year of institutional or commercial food-service experience preferred. Healthcare, rehabilitation, hospital, senior living, school, or high-volume food-service experience is a plus. Licensure and Certification Current Food Handler Certification required or must be obtained within the timeframe established by the facility. Must complete facility-required training in behavioral management and de-escalation techniques. Must obtain or maintain required behavior-management certification, such as SAMA, ABA, PIP, or an equivalent approved program. What Success Looks Like Patient meals and formulas are prepared and delivered accurately and on time. Special dietary orders are followed carefully. Kitchen and dining areas consistently meet sanitation and safety standards. Patients and team members receive courteous, dependable service.
