Endoscopy Technician

Job Summary:


The Senior Endoscopy Technician is responsible for preparing procedure rooms, assisting physicians during endoscopic procedures, and performing high-level disinfection and reprocessing of endoscopic equipment in a stand-alone outpatient endoscopy center. The role involves working collaboratively with gastroenterologists, nurses, and staff to support a high daily volume of procedures including upper endoscopies, colonoscopies, and specialized interventions. Strong technical skills with various scopes and equipment, as well as adherence to infection control and safety standards, are essential.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and set up procedure rooms and back tables for daily cases.
• Assist physicians during endoscopic procedures including upper endoscopies, colonoscopies, polypectomy, biopsy, PEG placement, banding, balloon dilation, Bravo, X-track.
• Perform high-level disinfection and reprocessing of endoscopic equipment.
• Operate and maintain Olympus and Erbe equipment.
• Ensure compliance with infection control and safety standards.
• Collaborate effectively with gastroenterologists, nurses, and other staff members.
• Maintain readiness and proper functioning of scopes including colonoscopes, EGD scopes, EBUS, EUS, Enteroscopes, ERCP scopes, fiber optics, and flexible sigmoidoscopes.

Required Skills & Certifications:

• Minimum 3 years of experience as an Endoscopy Technician in an endoscopy center or GI lab.
• Strong skills in scope reprocessing and high-level disinfection.
• Completion of SGNA education for GI/Endo or Certified Surgical Technician (CST) with 3 years of endoscopy experience.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Experience with a variety of endoscopy equipment and scopes as listed.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Experience with Olympus processors (CV-190), light sources (CLV-190), OER Pro, and high-level disinfection reprocessing.
• Familiarity with EPIC and ProVation documentation systems.
• Proficiency in back table set-up and room preparation.

Special Considerations:

• No weekends, holidays, or on-call shifts required.
• Facility may cancel up to one shift per pay period.
• No floating to sister facilities.
• Free parking provided.
• Locals accepted.
• All requested time off must be submitted at application.

Scheduling:

• Monday through Friday, 7:00am to 3:30pm.
• Day shift with no weekend or holiday work.
