About Our Client

My client is a design build general contractor averaging $450M+ in annual revenue with projects spread across multiple sectors (senior living, multifamily, government, hospitality, healthcare, education, etc.). They are looking to grow to about $650M in the next 5 years with growth plans implemented to achieve this. They are located in the Greater St. Louis area and have a solid backlog of work for 2026. They pride themselves on developing their team and having long-tenured employees who enjoy coming into work every day.

Job Description

• Lead preconstruction efforts from concept through GMP and handoff to operations.
• Prepare detailed estimates, budgets, and conceptual pricing.
• Collaborate with owners, architects, and engineers during early design phases.
• Review drawings, specifications, and valueengineering options.
• Manage bid packages, subcontractor outreach, and scope leveling.
• Analyze project risks, logistics, phasing, and constructability.
• Generate schedules and assist with costloaded planning.
• Present budgets and recommendations to internal leadership and clients.
• Support project transitions from preconstruction to operations.

The Successful Applicant

• 5-10+ years of experience in preconstruction or estimating within commercial construction.
• Strong background in groundup commercial, institutional, or mixeduse projects.
• Skilled in conceptual estimating and earlyphase project planning.
• Proficient with estimating software (e.g., Sage, OnScreen Takeoff, Bluebeam).
• Strong understanding of local subcontractor markets.
• Excellent communication, organization, and clientfacing skills.
• Able to manage multiple pursuits and deadlines simultaneously.
• Stable job history with proven precon leadership success.
