Traditional full benefit packages are available for full-time, year-round staff.Position DescriptionPosition Title: Valet - Gate SecurityReports To: Valet ManagerDepartment: ClubhouseEmployment Dates: TBD - Seasonal Temporary Mid-May through Mid-OctoberRate: $23Purpose of Position:Under the direction of the Valet Manager, the Valet is a non-exempt seasonal temporary position responsible for professionally handling members, guests, and vendors arrivals and departures, and providing gatekeeping security for the Club. Ensures the highest level of service as meets expectations of Club members. Performs all work in accordance with essential functions and responsibilities as described below and in the spirit of the Club's mission and vision.Responsibilities:Duties shall include but not be limited to:Oversees all entrances to the Club at the Gatehouse:Greets all members by name and with a smile.Verifies entry and log all vehicles and persons using the daily and seasonal lists provided by the Member Services dept.Relays via radio all arrivals of members, guests, vendors, and their intentions upon entry. Follows appropriate radio protocols.Politely but firmly rejects and detours tourists or unexpected guests.Directs all unaccompanied guests to the Clubhouse valets.Immediately notifies Valet Manager and/or COO of any potential security issues.Keeps the Gatehouse and surrounding areas neat, clean, and welcoming.Manages members, guests, vendors, and delivery arrivals and departures to the Clubhouse:Opens doors and greet members arriving in vehicles by name and with a smile.Assists with luggage from vehicles to and from cottages.Coordinates golf bag transfers with the Outdoor Services department.Greets all guests and vendors, directing them to the front lobby or to their appropriate destination.Parks and retrieve vehicles in a systematic manner.Keeps front lots and sidewalks, neat, clean, and welcoming.Drives Club vans and vehicles:Provides van service to and from airport and ferryboats.Coordinates all arrivals and departures with the Valet supervisor or manager.Greets all members by name and with a smile.Assists members and guests with luggage.Maintains vans and other club vehicles, monitoring gas, oil, and keeping the interiors clean.Observes all Club safety practices and protocols.Performs other duties as designated by the Valet Manager.Position RequirementsQualifications:• A valid US driver's license in good standing, and the ability to operate a manual transmission.• Be in an acceptable physical condition in case of emergency situation or breach of security.• Excellent oral communication skills and fluency in English.Experience and Education:• Prior valet experience preferred.Work Environment and Physical Demands:• Work tasks are performed mainly outdoors and involve physical strength and endurance. Must be able to work in varying temperatures and inclement weather.• Requires grasping, writing, standing, walking, running, repetitive motions, bending, lifting, pushing, climbing, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity. Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch occasionally.• Requires communicating effectively with members, guests, co-workers, and supervisors.• Must be able to lift and transport up to 50 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis.• May also experience exposure to the following: carbon monoxide fumes from cars, equipment, various insects and native/domestic animals, potentially damaging noise levels, and a variety of dirt, mud, dust, pollen, and approved pesticides and cleaning chemicals.• Must have valid driver's license and ability to drive a standard. Must be able to drive golf carts and use maintenance related equipment.• Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary vehicles and equipment.Projected Work Schedule:The Valet position may either be part-time or full-time. Full-time schedules must be available to work a minimum five day work week which may average over 40 hours per week. Hours during the peak season may require weeks averaging over 50 hours as needed. Weekend, holiday, early morning (6:30am) and evening hours may be required.
