Company Overview: Shrub Oak International School (SOIS) is a therapeutic day and residential school for autistic children, adolescents, and young adults with complex co-occurring conditions. Located in northern Westchester County, Shrub Oak offers unparalleled educational opportunities for autistic students in a family-centric, supportive environment. We offer a variety of programs to meet the needs of students across the spectrum, and our curriculum is based on the most advanced and successful evidence-based clinical and academic approaches in ASD education. We are a residential school located on a scenic 127-acre campus which includes multiple buildings and a working farm for student programming. The work environment will include both indoor and outdoor spaces.

Job Responsibilities:

• Provide direct supervision, mentorship, and coaching to Residential Supervisors, fostering leadership development, accountability, and consistent management practices across assigned cohorts.
• Oversee the daily operations of assigned residential cohorts, ensuring supervisors effectively manage staffing, student support, and program expectations.
• Review, monitor, and ensure the timely completion and accuracy of incident reports, shift documentation, and other required records, providing guidance and feedback to supervisors as needed.
• Manage assigned administrative responsibilities, including payroll processing, attendance review, and ensuring operational tasks are completed accurately and on time.
• Oversee student clothing inventories and related residential resources, ensuring students' needs are met and documentation is maintained appropriately.
• Conduct regular leadership rounds within assigned cohorts to monitor quality of care, staff performance, policy compliance, and operational consistency.
• Serve as the primary resource for Residential Supervisors, providing support with complex situations, behavioral incidents, staffing challenges, and day-to-day operational decision-making.
• Collaborate with the Assistant Director and interdisciplinary teams to promote effective communication, resolve operational concerns, and support the implementation of department initiatives.
• Monitor performance trends, identify opportunities for improvement, and support quality assurance efforts to enhance student outcomes and departmental effectiveness.
• Promote a culture of professionalism, collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement while ensuring compliance with agency policies, regulatory requirements, and mandatory training.

Position Requirements:

• Associate's degree in human services or related field required; bachelor's degree or higher preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in residential, educational, or behavioral health services supporting individuals with autism and other neurodevelopmental disabilities, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
• Demonstrated experience of supervising, mentoring, and developing supervisors, with the ability to promote accountability, employee engagement, and professional growth.
• Strong knowledge of residential operations, behavior support, crisis intervention, incident management, documentation standards, and agency policies.
• Experience overseeing administrative functions such as payroll, scheduling, attendance management, shift reports, quality assurance, and operational compliance.
• Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams, including Education, Clinical, Nursing, and other support services, while fostering positive relationships with students, families, and staff.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with proficiency in Microsoft 365 and other electronic documentation systems.
• Current certification, or the ability to obtain and maintain certification, in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention for Schools (TCIS) and all required agency training.
• Due to the nature of work in supporting our students, all job description list the physical requirements for that position.
• Our campus consists of some paved areas but primarily consists of grass, gravel paths and parking lots. Additionally, many areas of our building are fully accessible, however, as a historic building some areas are only accessible by stairs.
• You must be able to ambulate around the campus, including hills, stairs, grass and gravel.
• Student Facing Positions: Must be able to react and move quickly during student crisis, both for the safety of the student and for the staff. Must be able to run across the campus and throughout the school to catch/monitor an eloping student, and/or to remove yourself from an unsafe situation. You must be able to pass TCIS (Therapeutic Crisis Intervention Training for Schools). You must be able to bend, stretch, sit, stand, crouch or kneel for sustained periods of time if implementing a hold.
