Senior Engineering Scientist, Center for Electromechanics, Cockrell School of Engineering Weekly Scheduled Hours: 20 Location: PICKLE RESEARCH CAMPUS Earliest Start Date: Immediately Responsibilities: Contribute to technical execution and documentation of ongoing sponsored research. Manage sponsored research projects and provide technical leadership to other research staff and students. Maintain and develop research funding, preparing and submitting proposals to expand the research funding base. Publications and presentations. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering. 10 years' experience as lead engineer for sponsored research programs. Experience with advanced rotating electrical machines and composites. Preferred Qualifications: 20 years' experience in pulsed power, rotating machines, power systems, composites, and large. Salary Range: $70,000 prorated (Based on $140,000 FTE) Working Conditions: Work may sometimes be performed in a standard office environment. Repetitive use of keyboard at workstation. Use of manual dexterity. Uniforms and/or personal protection equipment (furnished). May work in all weather conditions including extreme temperatures. May work around biohazards, chemicals & chemical fumes. May work around electrical and mechanical hazards. May work around standard office conditions. Climbing of stairs & ladders.
