Job Description
This role focuses on setting up and operating CNC mills, primarily Haas Mills and Milltronics machines with live tooling, to produce and repair components that support automated packaging equipment. You will interpret work orders and blueprints, configure machines, and ensure parts meet precise specifications while working in a modern, well-organized, and temperature-controlled shop.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate Haas Mills and Milltronics CNC machines equipped with live tooling to produce precision components.
- Review and interpret work orders, blueprints, and technical drawings to understand part specifications and machining requirements.
- Configure machines, including tooling, fixtures, and offsets, to run production and repair jobs accurately and efficiently.
- Run CNC milling operations from setup through completion, monitoring machine performance and part quality throughout the process.
- Use blueprint reading skills to verify dimensions and tolerances, ensuring all parts meet required specifications.
- Adjust machine settings and tooling as needed to maintain quality, productivity, and adherence to engineering requirements.
- Support and repair components for automated packaging equipment, ensuring reliable performance of machinery in the field.
- Perform basic CNC programming or program adjustments as needed to run parts effectively.
- Inspect finished parts using appropriate measuring tools and techniques, and document results as required.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, following all shop safety procedures and guidelines.
- Collaborate with team members, leads, and engineering staff to resolve machining issues and improve processes.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce scrap, and enhance overall machining quality.
Essential Skills
- Experience setting up and operating CNC mills, specifically Haas Mills and Milltronics or similar equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders accurately.
- Demonstrated capability to set up machines, including selecting and installing tooling, setting offsets, and preparing fixtures.
- Proficiency with CNC milling operations and familiarity with live tooling applications.
- Ability to take a blueprint and independently plan and execute the machining process from start to finish, or the ability to read a print and perform machine setup with guidance.
- Strong blueprint reading and dimensional inspection skills to ensure parts meet specifications and tolerances.
- Basic CNC programming or the ability to make program edits or adjustments at the machine control.
- Attention to detail and a strong focus on producing high-quality, accurate parts.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple jobs or tasks in a production environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience supporting or repairing components for automated packaging equipment.
- Exposure to Haas and Milltronics control systems and their programming interfaces.
- Interest in growing into engineering, lead technician, or programming roles over time.
- Willingness to learn new machining techniques and technologies as the shop evolves.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot machining and setup issues.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with peers, leads, and engineering staff.

Work Environment
This position is on 2nd shift, working Monday through Friday from 2:35 p.m. to 12:45 a.m. The shop is temperature-controlled, providing a comfortable environment year-round. The facility features brand new front-end office space and a spacious, well-organized production area designed to support efficient, focused work. You will work with modern CNC milling equipment, including Haas Mills and Milltronics machines with live tooling, in a clean and professional setting that supports precision machining and collaboration.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of New Richmond, WI.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $28.00 - $38.00/hr.
