With a team of over 150 people and services in in‑house media, sports, entertainment, and film, we serve more than 200 clients across 46 states and three countries. About the Role We are hiring an experienced Digital Asset Manager to own how Hurrdat captures, organizes, secures, and distributes all photo, video, audio, and design assets generated across our internal teams and client work. The successful candidate will bring leadership experience in a high‑volume Creative/Media environment, deep expertise in cloud‑based DAM solutions, and a strong AI‑first mindset. Responsibilities Asset architecture and migration – lead transition from legacy systems such as PhotoShelter to our emerging cloud and data infrastructure on Google Cloud, AWS, and Snowflake. Library operations – govern the unified asset library serving all internal divisions and enterprise clients. AI‑first workflow design – identify and implement AI and automation across ingest, metadata generation, tagging, transcription, search, derivative creation, and distribution. Ingest and standards – set the standards for how assets enter the library and build protocols for routine operation. Metadata and findability – define the metadata schema, taxonomies, and naming conventions that make assets discoverable across teams, projects, and clients. Distribution and access – build the access model so the right people can retrieve content quickly while restricting unauthorized use. Quality control and audits – run regular audits for duplication, versioning, file integrity, resolution, and format, resolving issues at the system level. Backup, security, and disaster recovery – own backup strategy, retention policy, and access controls in coordination with internal IT and data leads. Rights, licensing, and compliance – track and manage usage rights, licensing terms, and clearance status for client, sports, music, and talent assets. Cross‑team enablement – train and support producers, designers, and account teams to work effectively within the system. Qualifications 5+ years running digital asset management in a high‑volume creative, media, sports, or production environment. Hands‑on experience leading a DAM migration or full system replacement. Direct experience building or extending cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform, AWS, and a cloud data warehouse such as Snowflake. Demonstrated track record of applying AI and automation to asset workflows. Strong command of Adobe Creative Suite file types, video codecs, RAW photo formats, and large media file considerations. Working knowledge of metadata standards, controlled vocabularies, and taxonomy design. Understanding of copyright, licensing, talent releases, and usage rights in media and sports contexts. Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical decisions to creative teams and vice versa. Self‑directed and results‑driven, comfortable owning a roadmap and driving outcomes. Bonus: Direct experience replacing PhotoShelter, Photomechanic Plus, Bynder, Brandfolder, Frame.io, Iconik, or similar platforms with custom or hybrid infrastructure. Bonus: Experience supporting live event and game‑day capture workflows at scale. Bonus: Experience with rights management for sports media, music licensing, or talent likeness. Bonus: Familiarity with vector databases, embeddings, or AI‑assisted media search. Bachelor’s degree in a related field (or equivalent experience).
