The temp will manage recurring operational tasks such as off‑cycle check processing, garnishment administration, and inbox management while also contributing to audits, reporting, and cross‑functional projects. Job responsibilities subject to change based on business needs.We are seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist with expertise in U.S. payroll processing using Workday. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical skills, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to manage daily off-cycle check processing including ongoing audits, reconciliations, and compliance tasks. This role is hands-on and fast-paced, requiring the ability to balance daily operational work with monthly, quarterly, and annual deliverables.Hourly Rate:$50–$55/hourlyDuration:9/1/2026 - 3/1/2027Location:Emeryville, CA – Hybrid, 4 days onsiteKey Responsibilities:Process off‑cycle checks three days per weekManage employee garnishments, including setup, auditing and monthly reconciliationReconcile and post daily payroll GL entries in D365Perform monthly GL reconciliationsSupport regular payroll processing, including data validation and auditsAssist with unclaimed property processingManage high‑volume Unclaimed Property and W‑2 inboxesAssist with payroll audits and internal control reviewsSupport year‑end processesSupport ad‑hoc reporting, audits, and cross‑functional projects as neededQualifications:3-5+ years’ experience in US payroll processingHands-on Workday Payroll experience (mandatory)Advanced excel skills Mandatory (ability to work with large volumes of data, vlookups, pivots, analysis, etc.)Strong attention to detail and prioritization skillsReliable and the ability to work independently and meet deadlinesExcellent customer service and follow-throughAbility to multitask in a fast-paced environment with changing prioritiesFlexibility with job responsibilitiesThis description outlines the role’s essential functions but may evolve with business needs.The target annual base salary range for this position is $50.00 – $55.00/hourly.
