Job Description

Paralign's team is critical to the success of our client-partners and projects by providing key strategy input and completing and overseeing process execution. Accordingly, Paralign expects that all team members will be highly curious, self-motivated, and collegial leaders seeking to help build a highly entrepreneurial, growing enterprise.

Paralign is seeking a Corporate Pilot to (i) operate our Epic E1000 and leased Piper Meridian/M600 and Cirrus SR22 (collectively, the “Aircraft”) in support of our business travel, and (ii) manage our Aircraft operations, in-process hangar construction, and – once completed – management of the hangar and coordination with tenants. This role is responsible for safe, reliable, and efficient flight operations, exceptional passenger service, the day-to-day coordination required to keep the Aircraft mission-ready, and the management of Aircraft, including maintenance tracking and scheduling, financial recordkeeping, and other associated tasks. In particular, the Corporate Pilot’s key responsibilities will include (as may be amended or supplemented from time to time):

Flight Operations & Safety

• Serve as Pilot in Command (PIC) and/or Second in Command (SIC), as applicable (and once having completed Epic initial instruction and any insurance requirements before serving as PIC), ensuring every flight is conducted with uncompromising safety and professionalism.
• Conduct comprehensive preflight planning, fueling, and pre-flight and post-flight procedures.
• Operate in compliance with all applicable FAA regulations (as applicable to Part 91 operations) and company procedures.
• Maintain applicable currency and instrument proficiency using sound aeronautical decision-making consistent with the safe piloting of a high-performing corporate environment.

Aircraft Readiness, Maintenance & Vendor Coordination

• Coordinate routine and unscheduled maintenance, inspections, and avionics updates with approved service providers; track maintenance status and ensure timely compliance with inspection intervals.
• Maintain aircraft records, documentation, and operational checklists; support insurance or lender reporting needs as required.
• Coordinate hangar/tie-down logistics, fueling, de-icing, cleaning/detailing, and ground support to keep the Aircraft prepared for short-notice travel.
• Conduct appropriate financial record keeping to ensure accurate tax reporting is accomplished.

Executive Support

• Deliver a first-class passenger experience (timely departures, clean and well-stocked aircraft, professional communication, and a calm, service-oriented demeanor).
• Support travel coordination and scheduling, including working seamlessly with executive calendars and occasional schedule changes.
• Maintain strict confidentiality regarding passengers, destinations, business discussions, and any sensitive firm/client information.

Continuous Improvement & Professional Standards

• Complete Epic factory training and any insurance-mandated recurrent training; continuously build capability in turbine operations.
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of company aviation SOPs (as applicable), safety/risk processes, and standardized trip planning workflows.

Hangar Construction and Operation

• Coordinate with firm leadership on the construction and operation of a new hangar (to house both our Aircraft and tenants) and corporate office to be located at the Sioux Falls airport, including design and planning, contractor management, aircraft tenant marketing, and other affiliated tasks.
• Conduct appropriate financial modeling and record keeping regarding hangar design, construction, and operation.
• Once constructed, facilitate tenant onboarding, lease negotiation, insurance requirements, etc. to provide a successful new tenant experience.
• Manage hangar operations including cleaning tenant aircraft, in addition to our Aircraft, rearranging hangar parking as necessary according to planned departures and arrivals.
• Be responsible for maintaining a clean and well-stocked hangar for the shared use by us and our tenants in a manner consistent with a luxury, first class experience.

Qualifications

We are targeting a recent graduate with strong aviation fundamentals, high character, and a desire to build a career in corporate aviation. The ideal candidate will have:

• Recently graduated from the University of North Dakota’s School of Aerospace Sciences with a major or minor in Aviation Management.
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0, with higher preferred, particularly in business courses.
• Commerical pilot and CFI (or, ideally, CFII) certificate (to enable the ability to log time in turbine Aircraft while flying with other pilots) with instrument rating.
• Ties to South Dakota and a clear desire to build roots in the region.
• Excellent judgment, professionalism, and communication skills; calm under pressure and highly detail-oriented.
• Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and execute reliably in a dynamic environment with changing priorities.
• Willingness to complete required training specific to the Epic platform and the standards set by our insurance company and our internal procedures (including recurrent training).
• Ability to pass background checks and maintain a professional record suitable for corporate aviation operations.
• Customer-service mindset and experience supporting high-expectation passengers.
• Familiarity with aircraft scheduling tools, recordkeeping, and operational documentation habits consistent with corporate standards.
• The willingness and desire to be based in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and travel frequently (3-4 days per week on average; weekend travel is highly unusual and infrequent) across the United States to gain ~500 hours of flying experience annually.

Salary Range

Paralign is prepared to provide a highly competitive compensation package based on the candidate’s relevant qualifications, skills, and experience. Subject to the foregoing, Paralign is offering base pay of $50,000-$75,000 annually, plus a competitive, performance-based bonus program payable annually , as well as health, dental, vision, and other ancillary benefits.
