Location 2012 South Tollgate Road,Suite 111-112,Bel Air, MD, 21015,United States Job Category Maryland, Bel Air Required Degree High school Job Summary The Sedation Nurse for National Vascular Associates' Baltimore region is responsible for administering conscious (moderate) sedation under the direct supervision of a Medical Doctor. This role involves providing comprehensive care before, during, and after sedation procedures, ensuring patient safety, and maintaining all necessary documentation and equipment. The Sedation Nurse also collaborates with the healthcare team to verify procedures, manage IVs, and respond to emergencies. Key Responsibilities Administer conscious sedation medications under the direct supervision of the Medical Doctor. Assess patients before, during, and after sedation, providing appropriate care throughout the procedure. Verify the procedure to be performed with the Provider and ensure all necessary paperwork and consents are completed and signed. Start and manage IVs during procedures, ensuring proper fluid and medication administration. Perform patient labs and report findings to the Provider. Recognize and respond appropriately to emergency situations. Maintain and ensure the readiness of emergency and monitoring equipment. Obtain and administer medications as ordered by the Medical Doctor. Maintain medication inventory and accurate medication logs. Requirements Active RN License Proven experience in administering conscious (moderate) sedation, or equivalent training Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Experience in surgical or acute care setting preferred Comfortable with IV administration Experience in managing medication inventory and ensuring compliance with logs and standards Strong assessment skills to monitor patients before, during, and after procedures Skilled in performing patient labs and interpreting results for providers.
