See for yourself the amazing changes at Laurel Lakes!Requirements of the Activity Aide:Must possess a high school diploma or GED.Must be able to relate professionally and positively to our residents and families and to work cooperatively with othersA wholehearted individual whose interests lie with our residents, and meeting the recreation program and service needs.Long-Term Care, Memory Care, Dementia experience preferredMust successfully complete a post offer, pre-employment criminal background check and physical / drug screen.Responsibilities of the Activity AideFacilitate large and small group activities designed to stimulate older adults with dementia.Provide dynamic and engaging presentations and hands-on activities that support client interest and abilities.Provide behavioral and emotional support and supervision for residents through companionship, conversation, distraction, and redirection.Encourage residents to participate in individual, small, and large group activities; provide appropriate cuing and support based on the residents functional ability.Engage the person in mentally stimulating activities, such as puzzles or reminiscing. Communicate effectively and patiently, especially as dementia progresses.Assisting the Activity Director in the development, organization, coordination, and implementation of comprehensive therapeutic recreation services and programs that meet the needs and interests of each resident.Complete required documentation, assist with planning and leadership of special events, and maintain activity department supplies and equipment.Take pride in your career and join an organization where your talents will shine!
