Northrop Grumman Space Systems seeks a talented professional to join the Advanced Space Processing E&S team in Boulder, CO as a Software Engineering Functional Manager Level 1 managing a team of Algorithms/Analysis Engineers and/or Software Engineers. Essential Functions:This is a dual role encompassing both functional management and technical performance within the Advanced Space Processing Portfolio (BOA or Advanced Programs) team.Demonstrate strong leadership skills to achieve sustainable top performanceWill have a track record as an effective communicator and problem solver who is able to develop and maintain good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.Will demonstrate a commitment to ethics and integrity, and the capability to innovate while challenging traditional ways of doing business.Basic Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline preferred from an accredited institution and 5 years of experience, or 3 years of experience with a Master’s degree; or 1 year of experience with a PhD.Must be experienced in all aspects of the engineering development lifecycleProven demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environmentExcellent verbal and written communication skills are required, and the ideal candidate will have demonstrated success in collaborating with and leading engineering teams. Demonstrated abilities to build diverse and inclusive teams with high levels of engagement, including mentoring and coaching, are a must. High proficiency in technical problem solvingFamiliarity with Overhead Persistent Infrared (OPIR) and Electro-Optical Infrared (EOIR) sensors and simulationsFamiliarity with the Missile Defense SystemAbility and willingness to travel 10% of the time to support business needs.Applicants must have a current active in-scope U.S. Government issued Secret clearance at the time of application which is required to start.Preferred Qualifications:Master's degree in a relevant technical or management specialty Direct supervisory experience and/or significant team leadership Working knowledge of OPIR sensors, with respect to focal plane resolution, sensitivity, and line of sight considerations for the purpose of trackingExperience in tracking and prediction algorithmsUnix/Linux operating system expertise (RHEL)Experience with C/C++ software language, development tools, and integrated development environments (IDEs)Agile development experiencePrimary Level Salary Range: $133,000.00 - $199,600.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
